Jumeirah Golf Estates – Earth Course
The Fire and Earth courses at Jumeirah Golf Estates have been created by a golfing legend; two time major champion and accomplished course designer Greg Norman. The courses offer golfers of all ages and abilities the opportunity to play two exciting and challenging championship layouts each one providing unique and distinctive playing characteristics. The par 72 Fire and Earth courses measure 7,480 yards and 7,706 yards respectively from the championship tees; the course presentation is highly individual, each hole a design gem blending effortlessly into the natural desert landscape; from their ingenious shaping and sculptured bunkers to the impressive presentation and attention to detail making every hole as remarkable as the next; fairways and greens are bordered by several lakes and indigenous plants with an impressive backdrop of native grasses and mature trees. The Fire and Earth courses opened for play in December 2009 after staging the inaugural DP World Tour Championship and final of the Race to Dubai. Winners have included Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and in 2013 Henrik Stenson. The tournament is scheduled to be staged at Jumeirah Golf Estates until 2017.
